Ok, HYPOTHETICALLY.

tank size is approx 240cm L x 120cm W x 60 to 70cm H

ok, in this tank will be a adult 55plus cm thick and solid red aro. The aro currently has a semi aggressive disposition, not as calm as my RTG, but not as angry as a jardinii... it chases flagtail away from its territory (top of water) but doesnt keep attacking.

i am thinking, of moving this fish into the tank above, and in the stocking will be

30 to 40 large to mecium clown loaches
assortment of plecos
5 large oscars
1 to 2 dats
some other cichlids, like midas, jag, red devil
MAYBE a few tinfoil barbs or silver dollars...

and 5 or 6 12 to 13 inch silver aros

ok, the question is
say i introduce the arowanas together with the oscars, dats and cichlids. all at once.

what do you think will happen.

My main priorities are
1) red aro isnt harmed

so do you think 5 aros, smaller than the red so the red cannot post a threat on the aro, but big enough to survive the red?

any feedback and discussion would be welcome. will the red SYSTEMATICALLY ELIMINATE the silvers? or is it a matter of

'ok, too many silvers and other fish , i cant attack them all, so i will stop"

What do you mean by this? Is the aro 55 inches or 55 cm or what? You worded this very confusingly. If the jars are less than two thirds of the red aros body, than they will probably be attacked. Also, is this an Asian aro? I don't know if they are illegal in new Zealand, but they might be. Also, adding so many fish to a new tank might cause problems with the beneficial bacteria.

I had widebar dats bigger than my RTG and they stressed him out so i had to separate them..rtg was fast enough to avoid their bites tho

how about the red aro and silver aro.
what is the dymanics do you think, can i succesfully comm this?
thats my main concern, i have never had a red aro comm experience before, but am told, with enough aros, it works.

not quite true .... rarely aros comm would success without any fight, but if you dont mind a little fight here and there, thats worth trying.
