"Seven archerfish species are known, all members of the genus Toxotes.
There are 5 freshwater archerfishes: Toxotes blythii, Toxotes kimberleyensis, Toxotes lorentzi, Toxotes microlepis, and Toxotes oligolepis. Toxotes microlepis is unique among the five freshwater archerfish species in sometimes being found in slightly brackish water as well, but ecologically speaking, it can be placed among the freshwater archers and kept perfectly well in freshwater aquaria. The remaining two archerfish species are found primarily in brackish or marine environments, Toxotes chatareus and Toxotes jaculatrix. Toxotes chatareus and Toxotes jaculatrix are both hobby staples, and aquarium books covering brackish water fishes will usually include comments on one or other species, and therefore not too much will be said about them here."

I have 2 microlepis archer. They are now 8 inch. Quite big.
I used to own a jar at same time.
Durin those 7 months, the archers turned into mid to bottom level fish. The jar owned the middle and top of tank.
Not a good mix.

) I found my jar showed no interest in the archers they swam were they liked most of the time there was the odd aggression here and there. My archers were around 6" the only real problem I had is when the jar was smaller the archers could make him freak out. Its all luck of the draw with jardinis i think.
