Tankmates? As you guys can already tell, ive never owned a full grown adult yet... But at the moment im thinking that my guys dont seem like the type to take over 180 gallons all to themselves... But I don't know.

So what do you think? Yes? No? Or Maybe?

For you guys who've read my past posts.... No... My Midas isn't going anywhere near any of my other fish... Especially my wallet sucking FHs. :)

Sorry... I just noticed that some of my posts are starting to seem redundant. As all of you can relate, this hobby isn't cheap so I'm just doing the necessary research before coughing up another butt load of money.

It's probably going to be along the lines of 6x2x2

potential tankmates...

1 male JD
1 female texas
2 oscars

- those are the big boys... then theirs,

2 convicts
2 parrots
1 male jewel
1 african peacock (I know... a little random but it caught my wife's attention at the LFS)

last... 1 (or) 2 flowerhorns?

180g has a better chance of the Flowerhorn getting along with others compared to tanks smaller than it. But they are unpredictable, it might get along with others or it might not.

Oscars are not good tankmates, they would possibly get ripped to shreds. Its also not typically a good idea to mix African Cichlids (Jewel and Peacock) with American Cichlids as they require different water. Convicts might be fine, Parrots might be fine, I hate Jack Dempseys but they might be fine as well. Best bet would be to add fish larger than the Flowerhorn and add it last.

Yeah, this process crossed my mind... how long would you recommend before introducing the FHs? Hours? Days? Weeks? My O's can be pretty nasty "sometimes," other times they just care less or they'll have that random sneak attack when none of the other fist are paying attention.

If a FH wants to target a kill, they will try and pull the job done spot on. Not show aggression one day and wander another. FH will vary from one to another. There are those that will dominant the whole tank to themselves, don't even like your hand in the tank and will attack the net to its very last breath. Then there are those that will swim passing by one another like a community fish. Your basically rolling a dice here...
