:nilly:I am setting up a 600 gallon new world cichlid tank. Lots of plecos. What cichlids would you put in the tank.:smurf

large central american , freddy, jaguar, midas, trimac, black belt, bifa, argentea, hartwegi all my favorites in terms of personality and size.

any pics?

Female dovii, male everything else lol.. Or you could skip out on the dovii and get a grammode instead, since they're so similar.. But then it wouldn't be parachromis..

Ehh with 600 gallons and a female dovii and male everything else I dont think there will be too many issues.. As long as there's enough hiding spots lol.. Poor little motaguense would be so scared of an 18" dovii and 15" jag >.<

+1 You would be one of the few people who actually has the space to house them properly I would take advantage of that.

I'd go in another direction. I would do about 75 Serpae tetras, 20 corys, about 15 Heckel discus or Altums and maybe about 6 Acarichthys heckelii a Panaque nigrolineatus or two to keep the wood clean add a group of about 15-20 Hatchet fish for the top. Add some nice big pieces of driftwood, a sand substrate and some LEDs for a good shimmer effect. Somthing along those lines anyway would be very cool IMO.

Ehh it's whatever he likes. I personally like carnivorous fish, therefore tetras and stuff for me are viewed at feeders lol. Do the dovii or umbee. I like parachromis, so do dovii.. They're beautiful and seem to have great personalities lol.. Throw in a bunch of danios and stuff when they're young though, since the dovii will hide for a while lol. Thad my only problem with fish. I have a 5" managuense and he still hides and gets scared often.. Lol makes it hard for me to keep him, such a big tank and when you walk by it looks empty.. Makes me sad :(
