So you bought it in Florida...where it is illegal to purchase, transported it over state lines which makes it another federal offense, and now your bragging about it on MFK? Way to make our hobby that much better bud

In his defense, permitted keepers can sell to out of state buyers. There is no law on bugs crossing state lines as long as it is legal in the state it was bought.

To be honest it's nothing like killing a 100 people or even one. The comparison is ridiculous as he's not risking anyone but himself and any reaction the government may take in response is no ones fault other than those who choose to let the government get away with passing ridiculous legislation based on a one off. The government only passes such laws to try and keep up the appearance of doing something to protect the people, it's all a publicity act that as hobbyists we're the victim of and rightfully so if we choose to kowtow to by browbeating each other rather than fight the government. It's the act that is prevalent in this thread which empowers the government and will eventually lead to our hobby being greatly reduced or perhaps being summarily destroyed. The more you kowtow rather than fight the more the government will pass such laws. Remember the government is here to serve us, not for us to live in fear of. If you want to take a stand do it against those who pass the laws. Fact is the act of handling a centipede that may sting him but won't kill him affects no one but himself. It's less of an effect on society than those of us who speed in our cars. So unless you've never sped or broken any law no matter how insignificant you consider the law to be the choice to find fault with the OP is hypocritical, that's despite the fact that he's not actually breaking a law as no ones offered one that he has broken.

Equivalently, he's risking the reptile trade and its reputation. Stop all the nonsensical talk about the government who is supposed to serve us and related crap. They do what they think is best for us, however wrong they may be at times. Be realistic.

You're speaking of a perfect world, whilst this world is full of stupid people who are everywhere most of the time. Stupid people believe that snakes are the make of the devil; machine guns in the form of a sentient enemy of sorts. So please cease all of this "ideological" talk about this and that, it works on paper but rarely in reality.

Secondly, you're saying that it is sensible to handle something that does not need handling or interaction?
I do believe it is within the sanctity of most exotic keepers to realise that this is not possible with pets of such reduced intelligence.

Lastly, breaking laws make sense many a times, but one must have the social responsibility, to consider the greater effect on incessant monkeys misunderstanding certain actions. And no, I don't have a car.

We are not accusing him of breaking laws, we are simply worried that this type of behavior will be the reason for MORE laws.

Oh yes, yes. Arguments like this, problematic to no point. Essentially, you're saying that if the whole world goes into anarchy and kills each other, then actions like those are fine and should not be corrected?

It is true that the people living in that world would concur that it is fine, but to us, onlookers, nope.

the guy holding the snake is so fake. lol

from age of 17-19, I used to drive to cross the railroad to beat the train all the time till one day I got hit by the train. Im thankful and lucky to be alive today. Never again will I do that.

Same with steve Irwin. Keep f**king with them one day you gonna get it then you learn.. LOL

Try to be brave and courageous in another way.

I didn't read all of the posts in this thread, but I just would like to point out the reason Steve Irwin got killed was because one of his cameramen startled the stingray and unfortunately (a big understatement) he was just swimming overtop of the stingray...hardly his fault and NOT because he "fudges" with any animal or doesn't have the training and the experience. He treats all the animals he meets with respect and he have saved COUNTLESS lives of animals across the world.

On another note, you sir (OP) are a true man...I wouldnt be caught dead in the same room as that.

and steve dont even work with rays he was out of his element and if ur dumb enough to get hit by a train its your own dumbass fault
