Pbass tank size?! And pbass question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This tank will be customly fitted to a space that is in a wall. So I don't really have much more room to make it only thing I can do is make it wider as I've already made out the height proportions and made the measurements. But its already 4' wide lol thats a huge tank! So I think its big enough for my wants lol its gonna be freakin monstrous! Lmao and 48" is the common plywood width and I wouldn't even have to cut the plywood width wise so it saves me work. Lol but its gonna be a lot of work!

I think i said this before? But hope you are tall, coz the height & depth of the tank will make cleaning it a real interesting scene...

I'm 5'8" and I have no problem buying one of those pond vaccums that you can hover over your substrate. I can also get in the tank lol. If the fish don't mind

Andrew, no offence, but the flaming comes from all talk no show. Honestly if you want the flaming to stop, severely slow down on your posts... ask relevant questions. And don't post any threads about stock or the tank until you have started building. Pics are an instant key to shut flamers up. So just slow down bud. I have been where your at. You shouldn't worry about your stock at all right now. Worry about supplies, construction, pumps, filtration, plumbing, money. Once its built, don't post a thread saying, "just filled my 600 gallon tank, what should I put in it?" Think things through. Take it one step at a time, that is how you make friends here, instead of watching the movie before the script is written, so to speak.

And to be relevant to your topic, yes there are different species of cichla, but the difference isn't very noticeable to Joe blow or miss Sally. Size is very similar in them all. All of these cichal can reach 18-20" no problem.

So honestly, to save stress, and what little respect people have for you on this sight. Lay low on the tank till you start building... post a build thread. Then filtration, then stocking. And for the time being, talk about the fish you do have, and the tank that is running. Maybe reach out, get a few other 30's, 55's, maybe even a 75 or 125... experiment, you might learn something, start favoring some other fish verse cichlids. Experience is the greatest teacher. And know I'm not attacking you. Trying to help you!!

Questions op. Have you started yet? Like you were suppose to a little while ago? Also what happened to the third oscar and the gold fish in your 55? and turtles? and colombian shark in the 20g and what about buying a 120 or the fish at the sian place or saving up all your money for this tank but then making a thread wanting to buy 200-300 native fish for "your" pond? Just wondering no big deal tho

id love to see you do that once its full of decor

Lol it seems crazy but I might just do it! It would be way easier than hitting my head on lights and bending over the tank to clean it with a huge vaccum! I feel like id be cornered or something by the fish ROFL! Can you imagine my dad coming home and finding me dead in my fish tank with a Jag pair with my body parts in its mouth! But, I would allow for enough space to manuever around the objects. I would also silicon the caves and rocks together so I can move them as one piece. I can do small sections at a time.

Okay first thing first. I have started to gather materials but they are all over the place. I have a lot of 2x4's but they are at my house in ny. I'll bring them down when its possible. The Oscar was half eaten and getting the crap bullied out of him. The goldfish is in my 15 gallon crayfish tank with the shubunkin. The turtles were sold. The Colombian shark I still have. He is in my 55 and I'm waiting on him to grow so that I can sell him. He's doing great. I still might be buying the 180 bowfront from the Chinese food store. The fish I was going to sell as I have no need for them. And I don't really want them killing my stock. I am saving up all my money still. And my dad is ready to start the build. I don't want to start until he does some more research but he has done some research and has found out the basics of a plywood tank. I just need to do some more as does he. The pond stocking thread wouldnt be my money. That would be my moms boyfriends money. He wanted some new fish for the pond and he asked me to look around. The pond is on my land so it is "mine" but I'm 14 I have no ownership rights but my mom and her boyfriend do.

You still have the Columbian in freshwater? Why am I not surprised? And two Goldfish in a 15g?

Just keeps getting better and better.

Andrew, A word of advice is to have Your Father Join this Site. You Say He is doing research right? This Is the best place for Him. And It may also improve Your relations with the General Community here. Just saying:confused:. You've turned most of us into skeptics. Your threads continue to get responses because We want to believe you. Listen to the advice above and slow it down.
