If its within daily size and bag limits, you can keep whatever you want.

I think there are different regulations if you intent to keep them for private uses - ponds, aquariums, etc. I know in MN you can't collect native species with the intent to keep them alive unless you are UNDER the age of 16... which is a strange rule, but that's what it is.

If you get a permit or a collection license then yes, I think they just count towards your possesion limit.

James,

That may be, as the aquarium industry is large in the United Sates. I consulted with the Chief of Fisheries and he indicated that no species that inhabit North Dakota waters may be moved in water and/or held in personal aquariums. However, if fish are legally obtained from a licensed private fish hatchery (including obtaining the needed import and stocking permit from the Department; free of charge) you would be legal to possess. I hope that helps.

I dont know about you but Id consider those fish trophys that far north. Nice pigs man. Is it a managed lake or something?

Yea I fish at a spots where its catch and release only. I have 4 or 5 spots where u can catch 15 bass in 1 hour all of them r over 4 pounds. The biggest on so far this year was 23 3/4" 7 pounds 4 oz.
That's y we should catch and release. I'll see guy sometimes trying to keep them. But the they people that live there will call the cops and kick u out.

The one that has Breezy Point resort on it? North of Brainerd.
I have a cabin on Pelican Lake, it's allright lake but it has good numbers of walleyes. Beautiful lake.

Awesome man. It is a really nice lake. In the short amount of time we were there, we probably put a dozen small bass in the boat texas rigging power worms. But for every one bass I think we caught 3-4 fat, aggressive rock bass. It was a lot of fun.

Obviously you've seen the place, not sure why I'm showing you pictures, lol.

I would catch a 13lb channel cat the day i forget the good camera. 29" and 13.09 lbs. Not a personal best but a damn fine channel catfish. This male was all muscle. by far the biggest i have ever seen. The 13.75lb female i caught back in oct 10' was all belly. And no i didnt kill this one, i zeroed the scale with a bucket and weighed him that way.
