Worked over time at the office, was tired as hell..but was to excited, so had to go pick him up TODAY!! Hes around 20 cm...

can anyone roughly have a guess at his age?

I was going to breed my current female with my KML, but something tells me, her and this guy would make a MUCH better pair... he has got around 2ft space to himself now...within 2 months, he will have a 75 gallon allocated to him.

His KOK is a bit down as well as his color, took the pictures within 5 minutes of putting him into the tank, after a 30 minute bumpy car ride!

Oh and my female has gone a bit redder for some reason, after moving her to another tank

I'd say less then three years since flowerhorns grow to be 30cm. I'm kind of worried that my male might be a female..lol It looks like your female, but is only five inches long.

Very nice pickup and awesome red dragon! Hes gona look even better once settled in.
Why not divide your tank evenly so he has more space too?

Yeah the female is looking much better, her and you new male should make some nice RD.

My opinion:
1. Chuck the nonFlowerhorn (oscars and what no in the female tank)
2. Give the KML the other tank to himself
3. Divide the RDs
4. If they decide to breed you can put the fry in your smaller tank

Any guesses on age? The person who sold this to a shop when this was young is a friend of mine. And he said 1 year few months..you?

Also does he still have a while that he can keep breeding?

Hes at a good breeding age now. Age sounds accurate.

Actually the original owner made a culling mistake when he was young (my friend) sold him to lfs lol..new owner is who i got him from!

chris is it true he can still breed for at least a year comfortably?

Do you mean breed for a year or breed at a year old?

I mean if hes lets say 1.5 years old. He can still comfortably breed for another year?
