My first cat, a zebra hybrid synodontis!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Im not too worried about rarity, I paid $12 for him, hes just over 3". Im actually pretty surprised at how active he is during the day, even with the light on.
I just saw him, inquired about size and care, and picked him up. I knew he was a hybrid, but for me, at least at this point, I dont mind. When I do my biotope, then yeah, but otherwise hes just a cool aquarium addition. He hangs with my JD alot, which is weird.

Nice. It is rare for such a small, young syno to be so brave, even more rare for a lone syno. Lots of other dither fish in the tank?

Hybridization of ornamental fish is a controversial subject that I'd rather not touch (although in a way, I just did that; how stupid of me). Mostly because it often (far from always) occurs with much cruelty and leads to the death of the parent(s). There are other issues as well. If care, you can start by reading here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=28659

He is in with my 2"Jack, a gourami, and a zebrafin danio. Not much activity, it was only a spare tank which kind of got thrown together. He doesn't come out when I'm near the tank all the time but if I pass by, he sometimes is out and about. Very active.

I'll check out the article.
