Ok i noticed that the violence in the tank today was abit more louder and i noticed before earlier they were moving the rocks and that like creating a terriotary, well today i looked in the corner and noticed a batch of orange eggs, and the parents are a pink convict and a jack dempsey, wierd combination but it worked and they both guarding the eggs very well, was just wondering anyone ever heard of these two breeding before and by the way i dont know who the mum or dad is lol

And they both do this like slide across the eggs like they going to lay more eggs, the pink convict mainly does it so that suspect me to think that might be the female, but the male has got some bright colour on him/her?

Yes im a bit confused at the moment, advice will be helpful thanks :D

Ok thanks, should i leave the eggs in the tank with the parents, they seem to be doing a great job of it, and the other fish dont really seem to be bothering them that much?

And also i think the female might be the pink convict since she touching and squeezing against the eggs and doing this slide, also she has a pink thing sticking out of her anus were as the JD more of the lookout

I would move everyone else out or the eggs won't make it..

Unless it is really crowded, let them be. A momma convict, and daddy jd, should be able to tagteam a fh.

Don't worry about them defending them they can handle your other fish. I have a momma and daddy JD and they take on my RD and Catfish no problem their pretty intimidating. They have even schooled around the tank with all the fry and nothing has touched them
