I have a small L-201 (about 2.5in.) and he just HATES leaving his cave. As in he just doesn't during the time the lights are on. He does come out well after lights out ( I know this because he demolishes zucchini). His tank mates are 2 rams and a 3.5-4in ctenopoma. Any ideas?

Leave the lights on to get him to come out and get used to being out and about with them on. Just a thought?
I have done that since I got him because I have live plants. I also took away his ship wreck and replaced it with a big peice of driftwood, I am surprised he hasn't checked it out.
How big is the tank? Maybe some more L201s will get him more out; when there are others, they may interact more, defending territory, seeing its safe to be out, etc.
I agree...also they will compete for food making them more active especially during feeding.
Its a 36gal and I am planning on putting a farowella in with him too. Since L-201s are pretty expensive here ($40) I really don't wanna try and get another.

Do you guys trust getting fish from online? I have never tried...... I mean how do they get air and stay cool?
Well he has a retail store I trust him he ships too and they inject the bag with pure oxygen
