NO! I would never buy a genetically altered fish. I woul never buy a genetically altered anything, unless it was a crossbred plant or something of the sort.

if they where just hybrids i dont see issue, the issue for me is the dna messing.. playing god for fashion is just wrong. i also have issue with the glow danios, though they where originally bred for scientific purposes. when you start messing with genetic makeup your doing way more then just "messing with nature" your messing with evolution. like playing with a loaded gun and not knowing which end is the barrel. best described in as funny as it sounds Jurassic Park...

So are flowerhorns wrong, they're bred to display a genetic defect? And I hate to tell you this but almost all food you eat has had its dna altered at some point, whether it's livestock being modified to be bulkier or veggies being modified to be resistant to disease and insects while giving a bigger yield. Unless you raise and grow all your food yourself, and even then are you sure those seeds aren't gmo?

What's really bad is reading te comments at the bottom. People play the "well you all eat cows and use their leather" is crap. At least we don't infuse DNA in mother cows when they are pregnant, super grow them, and sell them for a fortune! I mean, if you really want shoes like that, couldn't you just buy white shoes and paint them how you want them?

flowerhorns are hybrids... bred for certain traits. as for the rest i actually eat almost exclusively organic, and grow the majority of my own veggies/fruit for the reasons you mentioned. after my mother got cancer the whole family became much more aware of what we eat, and while we cant compleately cut it out, i do as much as possible. i could go on... but i do walk the walk not just talk it. genetic manipulation is wrong, for me it has nothing to do with religion either.
