Just spawned ctenolucius hujeta by accident.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Maybe the Almond leaves did the trick. Keep us updated though, Hopefully they'll breed again.

Ya who knows, I just think its crazy the even did it in my tank. I have only read that it is extremely rare for them to spawn in captivity, and only in large tanks. This was in a standard 125G 6' tank.

Haha, Yeah, Not something you see happen every day. I was thinking your tank was bigger than a 125g, That makes it even odder that they decided to breed.

Right?:) Its just a grow out tank thats pretty simple. I really do not do much to it. I wish there was more people cuz i'm lost on how to raise them. I just guessing as I go.

what are your water parameters? temp? ph? what do you feed? how big are the hujeta?
Temp is 82
Ph should be around 6.8 I need to check again
Everything is in good order.
There are also 5 9" Indian Almond leaves in the tank too.

Female is around 8" and Males are about 6"
Still young

I feed live black worms
frozen tiliapia
blood worms
and they also eat Hikari Tropical arowana food sticks
