DIY wet/dry setup tips or help.

I bought a used wet/dry off of ebay for 50 with shipping. Your cheapest option other than craigslist would be to make one from an old glass tank (or new if you want to wait till the petsmart dollar per gallon sale) After I received the one from ebay I set it up and ran it for a few months but with the way I have my spray bar set up I need a larger overfill capacity to prevent my living room from looking like a mine New-Orleans every time my power goes out :)

Yup I've decided to build my own. Having a little trouble finding the return pump I would like and I plan on buying the overflow (it'll look nicer in the tank I think) but I'm on the road to making a couple for my 2 55's and one for my new 135g

I first used a storage tote until my next clean up came around when I could drain the entire tank into bins remove the empty tank from the stand to fit a 20g long into the stand from the top. I can't fathom paying so much for a cheap plexiglass from a manufacturer. I eventually ripped out all the baffles I put in too. Just needed a tank in the end.

May I suggest, instead of using plastic bucket or plastic box to hold filtration media, use plastic baskets, eg, laundry basket or shopping basket? Reason: better air movement for improved gas exchange!

Kuji out.
