Help! Just got my sliver arowana 2 days ago and it's not eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are extremely jumpy and timid at first and it takes several months for them to not freak out and harm themselves. I have to be very careful about cleaning the glass on my tank bc my Aro will hurt himself from freaking out. Keep the lights off and avoid any sudden movements by the tank try to just stay away from the tank until it calms down some

Arowana's are VERY nervous fish. It takes them weeks or even months to get used to a new environment. However, if you spend enough time around them, it can be rewarding :). Raised my silver in a 75 in my bedroom (don't worry he's in an 8x3x3 pond now) and whenever I come near the tank, he comes up to the top right next to me. Eats straight from my fingers.

When I first got mine I had trouble getting her to eat too. I finally got her eating crickets bought from the LFS and once she started eating she would eat most everything. They are shy at first. Good luck!
