Found them this morning guarding a corner of the tank, a rock covered in eggs.
At 2" i thought they were a bit small for that.
I was expecting them to get a militant towards the tank mates but so far as long as they stay clear their good.

Congrats.

My first pair were really small when they first bred too! When you have a dominant male I don't think the females mind starting so young :)

For mine it was 3 days to hatch, 6 or so days to be free swimming. I kept mine at around 24*c, which would slow things vs others.

Good luck, don't be surprised if not many fry make it. Rarely is a first spawn all that successful.

Not all that fused about the fry growing up as id have to catch them ( nightmare in my tank) and sell them on for not alot really.

Could go either way. The male may beat on the female pretty bad, or they mightn't notice and try again. I would only remove half the fry were you to remove any. This way they still have some fry to protect. But you still have some to grow out.

If you aren't interested in selling any. Just leave them with the parents. They'll likely be picked off in a community setup.

what tankmates do you have? i had a pair breed once and the "fry cloud" got smaller and smaller each night until they were all gone.... think my sydno cat was getting them
