Hello,
I just bought my first baby silver arowana today. I understand that it is difficult to get them to feed before they are used to the new environment. Any tips on how to get him comfortable enough to eat? Should I leave the lights on/off more than regular? Or put a towel over the tank when I'm not around?

Lights off, Towel Over, More Hiding Places. What other fish in the tank?

What size tank? It recommended for baby aros to be in tank with lower water level but not a requirement. It just help it be able to find food especially if you feed food that sink. It usually doesn't swim to the bottom to look for food.
I do have to ask. The egg sac is gone right?

Just be slow around him. No sudden movements and try working with a bloodworm/krill mix and just use some tweezers and hold it just under the surface of the water. Just work him into it. I had to do this for my Aro to eat, now he'll eat right out of my hand and eats feeder fish really good. I feed him ghost shrimp too. Just out a hand full of them in my tank and they crawl up the heater and he eats them when they reach the top of it.

All my baby Arowana where raised on flake food (tropical crisp) then once they hit 8 inches I move them to hikari cichlid pellets and they all stay healthy and have awesome color then every now and then id give them a treat like frozen bloodworms brine shrimp and then when they hit 15 inches they get pellets first 2 days then shrimp third day pellets next 2 days fish fillet the sixth day then pellet again on seventh day just mix up diet and the faster you get him on frozen/dry the better
