Andinoacara stalabergi. True GT's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hmm... your explanation makes sense, I didn't think about that. Instead of tightening up the school they panic since they are "alone." I kind of feel bad now for putting them in this position. It's not that they are not happy though, they just don't know where to find comfort when stressed out, leading to panic.

Now that I know the reason behind the name, I like it, hahaha. Will your next male be Noah then? :)

It seems that Andy is more tamed(or maybe was tamed by) the previous alpha, so I hope he will be more of a pacifist!

When you upgrade I'm sure they'll pleased of a few pals. 'till then, I'm sure they're happy enough.

Hey, it could be Noah! Or Dean..?

I hope so, but only time will tell. I think as he grows he may either, become a monster, or relax a little. I will decide on my final stocking from this.

It's confirmed that he is a he though, I managed to vent him last night. The smaller one escaped my net, but is likely still a little small. I have found fins to be the most accurate method of sexing however, even the pictures on google confirm. Females, will develop a small point on the dorsal, but rounded anal fins, whereas males have trailers on both.

Where do there come from if not Ecuador?

Your lfs!?

I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand what you mean?

Stalsbergi, the True GT, originates from highlands of peru. Whereas the saums, they are from the warmer tributaries of Ecuador.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how soon I'll upgrade right now because I'm not sure where I'm going with my tank at the moment. I originally got the SDs as dithers for the couple, which I already have, and upgrading to a bigger tank to accommodate them isn't my top priority. I know it sounds a bit harsh but the GTs grow slowly and I would most definitely consider it when they get bigger. Getting a bigger tank right now would just be tougher on my wallet at the moment, considering the bigger water changes, electricity(sump, heater etc.), and their food supply. What's your opinion on this(since you have good experience with both GTs and bigger tanks)?

Do you have an idea what your stock will be like if he is relaxed or aggressive?
