This is my new stand that is not yet finished but the foot print is 3.68m x 1.53m.
I am aiming for 1000g minimum and will use 15mm glass throughout with top and bottom euro bracing.
The stand needs two more sets of legs welded on and more cross braces but looks the goods so far.
My new fish room is an insulated 5m x 7m shed that needs a good tidy up before I can get this stand into position.
Next week the stand will be finished with ply and foam added ready for the glass to be ordered.
The water level should sit between 77cm and 80cm so I have been told 15mm glass should be fine.

I tried to save my tank plans as a google doc but some of it got scrambled. Anyway you get the idea though.

Your stand looks nice, but any reason why you are not going with metal on the floor under the legs for better distribution of weight? Like this stand that Hulon made for mjuniorc?

This might be a little early but... What will the stoick be?

*stock*

I'm no engineer, but I don't think the horizontal bracing on the ground is for weight distribution. All i can see is that the ground bracing would keep the legs tied together, and keep the stand from folding up like a folding table. The pressure from the top would still be on the legs. He said he was going to add more cross bracing, so i'm sure he's going to tie the legs together somehow.

I think what others are trying to say is that you have 6 small feet that are going to hold 10000+ lbs. I agree that it would be much safer and better for your flooring if you added a frame all the way around the bottom.

You all said the same thing I did when I first saw the stand. The design I wanted was to have four 3ft x 5ft boxes connected together.
Now after seeing the stand I am going to have the two extra sets of legs added and some steel under the front and back.
I really can not complain as a friend of my Dad is making it for free and he wrote everything down but obviously did not follow my design.
He did a great job on my 500g tank stand which is the same as Hulon's. I think with the changes in the pic it will be fine.

Stand has been finished now ready for the ply and foam which I will order tomorrow. I should be ordering the glass this week with the aim of putting this baby together on Sunday.
