Just a thought that occurred to me i have not done it at all and know that mice dont live in water but thought that lil pinkes that are 1 day old are mostly just fleshy and there bones are not very developed at that point in time and will digest well if it not a good idea totally understandable just thought itd be way better to ask then to try at first.

As long as your Oscar is big enough to swallow the mouse with no problem then it should be fine as an occasional treat......

Why not just stick with shrimp and pellets. Lol

Just the idea of getting a pair of mice and constantly having alitter of pinkies = free food was intriguing to me and thought it might be nutrious as well but reading the mamal fat isnt good for them has changed my mind thanks for the advice mch appreicated ive tried breeding platy's and mollies but have not had much success in that area right so far, and the concept of a male and two females mice id know for sure thatd start breeding.

Could always get another tank and grow fish for food, just as easy.

Why not start a worm farm? Fish love them, good for them and lots of DIY ideas online on how to set this up.

Mammal meat is bad for oscars and most other cichlids. They usually won't eat them.

Interesting, I know most serious Discus breeders use beef-heart as a main food. I have feed pinkies to large cichlids before without any problems. I had a juvenile prairie king snake so I had a colony of mice and always had more then I could use, so I gave them to a peacock a jaguar and some snake-heads. They all seemed to enjoy them.
