Largest cichlid for my tank

Hello I have done this topic before but accidentally erased it from the app memory. I want to get a large cichlid for my tank which is 36" long 18" wide and 20" tall. I will be getting rid of my stock except my Lima catfish. So what cichlid can I have in my tank, no jacks please I had one but had to get rid of him thanks in advance

I wouldn't suggest getting anything that gets larger than 6-8". A male salvini is about the biggest fish I would add. A pair of any Archocentrus, cryptoheros, or thorichthys will do just fine along with some large livebearer's.

I agree with Forrest, but that lima will outgrow that tank... I'd rehome the lima eventually too

+1 because that fish needs space... it comes down to whether you'd like to live in a bedroom or a closet...

I'd do a pair of Sajicas and some columbian tetras with a nice hardscape of dark rocks and driftwood
