First time a snake of mine ever refused a frozen for me. Got him saturday and figure ill giv him a go for feeding ever monday, put him in a feeding box and he just backs away from it. Now the guy did tell me he got him to take frozen before but the snake prefers live.

My question is, if he is stubborn do i just wait the week and try again? Or should i go out and buy a live today just so i know he has a meal in him and start with the frozen next week?

That's perfectly normal for a ball python provided that it's healthy. Try tease feeding it with a warmed up F/T mouse; some snakes will not eat lukewarm/cold prey.

+1 thaw it in warm water and move it around in front of it when it gets hungry enough it will take it

Once in the habit of Live, Its hard to change to frozen/thawed...

Warm bath for 10 mins and dry off to make sure it does not have a backed up turd if the let him soak he will pass any excrement and be happy to feed in a day or two also try drying off the mouse on a towel after warming it.Some times my female will not eat unless we do this order...she is a finicky little twit.GL

Yes, i always dry the mouse after warming him. And i guess im going to try the warm bath for him.

i would not dry it dont give it a live if you want it eating frozen/thawed give it a few days or week he will get hungry and take it..giveing the mouse wet is just an option to make sure the snake is getting properly hydrated.
