Thanks :)

Mine are from rapps, But through another supplier. It takes time to save for these, especially from the UK. Worth it though.

oh ok . the shipping to uk must be rediculous.

Well I didn't pay the shipping I paid an extra price on top of the fish though.
at 3-4cm i paid the equivelant of $25 per fish. and then a delivery cost of $20.

Still worth IMO

looks nice, not sure what makes this one true, maybe mine is fake, but very strong color by the lower jaw, not so much elsewhere. everyone looks for different things in fish and saums can be very difficult to get pictures of so its hard to tell but overall id say 8. and i think it does look like a female based on finnage color and shape. Im no expert but i have seen and kept my fair share of saums.

This is no saum,

Andinoacara stalsbergi, give it a quick google search. They are a seperate species which fall under the same genus. Smaller growing, much meaner and generally a different fish all together. Completely different colours as they grow.

makes it a 10 in your book who cares what others think of your fish?

Im trying to gauge what people think of my fish, and what people think of the species in general, they are far less common than saums so its interesting to see what people make of them.

Also, its an education, as many people (like yourself) don't recognise the species.

i understand they are a different species, but most commonly sold as silver saums correct?

No, these are solds as stalsbergi or 'True' GTs.

Previously they were named silbersaums, which complicated things when the Silver saum arrived.

Silver saums are exactly the same as gold saums just with white edgings. Both are named: Andinoacara sp. 'Gold/White/Silver saum'

The classification is very messy.

yes because i know ive gotten silver saums that were listed as a different Latin name than gold saums. now Im confusing myself. idk nice fish though i love all fish that are "similar" to saums like blue acara and whatnot. i try not to get into classification because it is always changing and by the time i learn all classes, they will be updated and changed. thanks for the info though

OMG you SOB, sorry ;)

I've been wanting and wanting and has always been on my want list: Andinoacara stalsbergi. This guy was selling many frys on Aquabid bout couple years back...but he want me to tell him how much I wanted to pay so I did and he never replied back, Guess it wasnt enough for him.

Im happy for you and sad for me, I hope you can find another or more and breed them, this hobby needs them.
