How hard is it to make a simple stand for a 65?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
2 or 3 cuts are free.. and I think it's .50 after that. Make sure you watch them cut, they do not guarantee accurate measurements and you want the verticals to all be the same.

If you're not going for looks you could probably get by with $20 worth of 2x4's.

This scares me! You mean they wont cut properly!!???

I built a 65 stand a little while ago with just 2 by 4s and a sheet of plywood. Cost me a little more than $50 because I completely overbuilt it, but I also had the plywood already. I say do the cuts yourself, I have gotten so many screwed up cuts from hd that I only use them to cut things that won't fit in my car. Also, I had everything planned out from the size of each individual piece to how many screws are used to.hold it together which made the build extremely easy.

If you let them know you need them all the same and watch them measure you will probably get what you want, but you just need to keep a close eye on what they're doing.... nothing to be scared about, those 2x4's are so cheap they could start over if they had to.

BUT if you have or can borrow a saw just do it at home. I only get stuff cut there to fit in my car as he said^^^

Does home depot charge to cut the wood?

Technically yes, they charge 25 cents a cut, after the first 2 cuts; but its a rarity that they will actually charge you. I myself avoid letting home depot do any cutting for me as they always seems to screw up any dimension I give them. I'd say just pick up a cheap circular saw and do it yourself.

The stand itself should be cake, especially if your just doing a frame. Don't get psyched out by it, wood is very easy and cheap to work with. :)
