How hard is it to make a simple stand for a 65?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All the cuts home depot did for me were spot on the only one i had to trim were the piecies i miss measured but no problems at all as long as you watch what they are doin you should be fine and i have never been charged for a cut there. I spent exactly $38 doin my 200 stand ots just a frame and been holding strong over a year.

Not hard at all and the wood for the size tank you have is pretty cheap.I recently built my first one for my 75.Just check out the DIY stand threads for ideas.I have a photo thread of mine there.

yeah, im kind of freaked out about the idea. I thought i had it solved by letting home deport cut it for me, but from what i am reading...

you could try a cinder block stand REALLY easy ...and cheap 25-35 bucks

Trust me, if I can cut 45's for the trim on my stand, then you can cut some 2x4's. Once you get going you will have it built before you know it.

Try it out it will be fun. I built mine from oak wood for my 50. It was not hard at all and I'am not the best carpentar beleive me.

Hd and lowes both cut my boards all right measurements and straight. Been to both places I've built like 7 stands. If your really worried about it go to a pawn shop and buy a used skill saw or chop saw cheap.

I just built this. i used a circular saw for my cuts and pre-drilled the screw holes. i spent about 25$ on the 2x4s and the screws and had the plywood laying around if i had to rebuy the ply would have cost 35$. this was a slightly oversized 55g stand.
