FX5 arrives today. I need help with Filter Media?

make sure the bio media you choose can be reused over and over--some of the bio media products have a life span.

I just got back from Pet Smart. The only filter media they had was Aqua Clear BIOMAX, FLUVAL CLEAR MAX, FLUVAL PRE FILTER, & FLUVAL CARBON. Which 3 shall I use??? Top, Middle, & Bottom?

I would just go all three trays biological media. You'll need a ton of it to fill an FX5 if you're using small bags from petsmart. You don't have to fill it up completely right away, depending on your bioload.
