Check Out My Huge New Gar!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it's huge, I caught some gars but have to throw them back cuz they were baby guppy size!

Wow, I'm guessing that those were baby spotted gars?
I guess so, there is also longnose and gator in that area but I don't know it they live together as babies or not!

-great find Ryan! good luck with the little guy and keep us posted on its growth. always fun to grow out those YOY LNGs! if you find more you can keep them together as long as they are the same size and well-fed...keeping track of all that is of course the challenge!--

AWWWEEE how cute! I had min a little smaller than that and he has doubled in size! And he still managed to eat guppies! He is now big enough to eat minnows! BEst of luck with this baby he is adorable!

Thanks, man! I hope to go looking for more soon.

By the way, those little black things that are floating around in there are mosquito larvae; it's a bit too small for most feeder fishes at this size.

Cool stuff Ryan...never seen one that small either!

Thanks. This one is about the same size as the one that my largest longnose gar (now in my big pond) ate when it was a baby; I caught that one & three others at the same spot that I got this one two years ago yesterday.

Cool. Maybe there are some Croc III gars swimming around in there?

Thanks. I'll try to keep track of this one's growth as well as that of any others that I might find although I'm not going to attempt cohabitation until they're a wee bit bigger after what happened the last time that I tried that with ones this size; besides, it will be easier to track their growth & food intake if they're kept separately.

Thanks. I'll have to try some guppies then.

OMG i want one! its soooooo cute!

Thanks. I am not making any guarantees whatsoever, but I intend on looking for more tomorrow; I will let you know if I find any more.

Your behind me :p

Ryan, small guppies likly will work. Gary was purchased at a mere 2" and took down small guppies like a boss. He couldnt handle adults.
