Sneak Peak of My 420 Gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I installed saftey valves underneath the bulkheads.....hopefully I can do a test fill tomorrow....

I always valve the bottom bulkheads exactly the same. Before the test fill I attach a garden hose to every bulkhead valve and run them outside just incase I need to drain the tank quickly.

Your getting to the fun stuff now

Yea, I had an incident on my 360G and lost quite a bit of water on my floor and I want to make sure that never happens again. I did'nt think about attaching water hoses though but I definitely am going to use that now. Thanks Egon! I really wish I could run a trickle system like your 450, but I am going to drill through my brick wall for drainage. It will make water changes somewhat easier.

Where did you get the tank. I raise Tiger Oscars and need something that large. We are looking at building a large plywood tank. I like the dimensions.

If your going through the trouble of drilling through brick, go with at least a 1.5" drain line out of the house. I'm so glad I did that. Now I have 4 tanks on that drain. I never thought I would have so many tanks on that system. Almost 5 GPH trickle and I extended the drain up and just inside my stand for a very convenient gravel vac drain or a place to drain my canisters. Once the drain is in setting up a trickle from a near by cold water line is easy :)

Wow..... that looks sweet, I'm definitely going to look further into it. Let me sk you this, how do you condition the water?
