Why are my fish dying!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
is there any chance that the new group of altifons were wild caught?
When new fish die so soon & nothing else even shows stress, the new fish's history should be a consideration.
If not wc, perhaps delicately raised in very pampered water, unlike treated tap.
&/or exposed to illness, stress transitioning between the breeder, store, and then into your tank.

:-/ try not to panic about your water. take sample to store for complete test. try to get/compare info on water parameters where they came from.

Possibly...however I called the store owner and he said he'd had these fish in his store for almost a month now...I don't know if I believe him or not...

Sorry for your loss. Either way I would give that tank a serious cleaning and avoid new fish until you get everything squared away. Your fish have been living in that tank and theres a good possibility that once the new fish were put in there it was just too much for them. Fish stress somewhat very easily.

Don't know, I'm one of the people on here who doesn't test my water. I was going to test it before a water change but I have zero time, I have to leave soon to pick up my next foster dog, don't have time to track down my test kit..

well now you have more time because you have less fish to care for...
geo's are sensitive to bad water.you probably have bad parameters.

If that's the case, then why did my other fish not die? I have one Altifron(the oldest that I've had for a couple months now) that is thriving. Beautiful, active, growing like a weed..My Jurupari is the same. Doing great. My Bichirs and RTBS are all thriving, too...so if it's bad water then why aren't the other fish sick?
I'm so frustrated, if I lose another fish I'm going to die. I'm just going to curl up and die.
