Kauai freshwater fishing

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks, the only problem with going back to the guides spots is that apparently you really can't because it's on private property, if I was confident I could catch one with a guide I would get one, but because of that uncertainty me and my dad just don't want to hire one.

YOu need some confidence to catch fish. If you think your gonna get skunkd w/ a guide how do you think your gonna catch fish without one? Id say hire one or get your game face on. The $ spent gettn to Hawaii is nothing compared to the guide fee.

+1

I would go with a guide for at least a half day as well. If you've never been to the area, just finding a spot could take you a few days. Save yourself the headache, get the guide. Gangster is 100% correct, you're not paying to simply catch fish, you are paying for the knowledge. Besides, when are you going to have another opportunity to catch native Pbass?

So we booked a guide and will be fishing on Wednesday!

It turns out that peacock bass fishing can really only be done with a guide, so we decided it was worth it, but we'll be fishing on the beach without a guide, we heard that's great where we are.

Go down to the local grocery store and pick up a few market shrimp and cut it Ito 10 small pieces per shrimp to catch all kinds of reef fishes at the beaches.

Oh I will defiantly post pics, and yes it is confirmed that cichla are here by the two big ones mounted on the wall at the local fishing shop, but it seems that really the only way to catch one is to hire a guide (unless you have a really good connection and can get into a private pond.) hopefully we have success!

There's this pond outside my room filled to the brim with tilapia, and it's really tempting to go fish in there, but unfortunately your not allowed to :(
