yeah, ive only seen them in one creek here in nc. there is aNight crawlers.. I got an even better one, Northern Hog Sucker, actually caught it on crawler. We usually spotlight them in the creeks and use a sein to get them. This is the small one, the one I got today is 12".. very nice and he is in my native tank as well

river that used to have lots of them till flathead catfish were introduced.
I have had no time to be on web sites or fishing. Got some bait today including some nice suckers. Should be able to get on some fish this weekend and next. Hoping some are getting off the nest.

Glad to see everyone getting after them. Hard to believe its not even July yet. I didn't even catch the first flathead of te year until July 4 last year and have 7 already but only 2 over 10. Last year I only had one under 10.

crab drop nets with chicken legs tied to the bottom and a handline with gizzards on it
looooot of work to clean em up though!3 more small sharks (though none as small as the first) and 3 good sized virginia mullet in the box, not bad for an hour and a half on a falling tide. getting better at surf fishing. did lose a good sized flounder in the sound because i tried to set the hook too early.
yeah haha, 5" finger mullet, i let him try to bite it down 4 times, went to set the hook again and i felt weight, then all of a sudden nothing. got the mullet back in all that was left was the head with the hook in it and the tell tail circular bite mark of the flat fish.
yeah ive had good luck with flounder this year, ive had a 29 incher and a 26 incher, plus many more 15+ fish.
excellent, havent got my first this year yet. managed to not catch any last year either now i think about it >_<, havent been able to make it to the coast as much as id like to recently
