Breeding jack dempseys, female too dominant. Tips?

mirrors Do work. :) a dither fish or two in there is a good idea also. i use tinfoil barbs. they r big and can handle aggression well. convicts also. snakeskin groumis too. (spelling) but the pair should b without the other monsters. just sum rough cheaper ones to keep the motion in their ocean. water changes right before breeding or trying to breed, help. make sure the water is cooler when added. it feels like rainy season and time to get it on. good luck.

Well my female has lost some dominance and the male seems to be following her, however now my GT is paying for it. I'll have to move him once they breed (if it happens), but for now he's a good dither fish. I'll do a water change later today.

One question, My house is at about 78 degrees, I dont have my heater hooked up, should the temp be cooler or warmer to get them going?

76-78 is perfect. i would remove poor gt before he gets too badly ripped up. i luv a terror. :) the water change only needs to b a bit cooler. like a 50% water change at 70-72 will do it.

Thanks guys, and the gt is going with my turtles for now, dont want anything to happen to him.

Ok so whats like the average wait time after they pair that they breed. They seem to be fooling around but no eggs yet.
