I emailed the person on CL with (7) 6" pygos (fairly sure RBP) in a 40, asking if they'd be willing to sell me a pair for Peek to shoal with. They won't split the shoal b/c they want them all gone, and their petstore told them you HAVE to grow all fish in a shoal together or they'll kill each other.... I said they'd have better luck posting them here, but I'm sure others will ask to split the group because their tank isn't big enough... Urgh, so the hunt continues....

I'm still amused they want that much for them. 40 gallons is the largest tank petsmart sells in there dollar per gallon sale. Those tanks should be cheap by now by the flooding of the market every 3/4 months by petsmart.

Good luck on your hunt and Godspeed to those sellers. Those ps need more room asap

Our current option is her former shoalmate, and maybe putting up a divider till we can find a 3rd one. Or hoping they won't kill each other... People who don't REALLY know piranhas, should never buy/sell them! ._.

Lol I just picked up 2!! One for my juvy rhom and one for a hospital/quarintine tank! Great deal btw considering there normally 115$+tax!! And they NEVER have the $/gallon sale with the 40B, its always 10,20,29 and 55 all of which don't interest me!

Sushi: just buy a bigger tank 6'x20"x18" and buy em all! U want atleast 5 to see decent shoaling behavior!

I thought 40b was the largest they allowed the last 3 sales and the 55 gallon was left out? Oh well, smokin deal regardless of where the cut off was

No thanks. I don't have $200 booting around, nor do I really want a big shoal. I'm aiming for 3, and if I don't find a pair soon, I'll have to consider selling Peek and either A) starting with a group of babies, or B) just staying out of P's until I can afford the setup I really want. Peek just won't acclimate to being an only P, and I don't feel that she's happy. I'm hoping I find friends for her soon! :(

I was the one selling the RBP on CL. I want to try and sell all 7 before selling one by one. They were my son's and he nor I can afford the upkeep and maintenance anymore. And we know the tank is too small, but I refuse to put more money into them. I'm not rude or mean, just desperate.

If you know they need a bigger tank and you're desperate then sell the tank and piranhas seperately. Why would the person buying them buy your tank that can't house them unless they need an extra tank?

Ps, I wouldnt sell one at a time but if someone wanted a few at a time Id do it. 7 is a lot and would require someone with a tank 3x the size of the one you're offering
