Did you also see that there were 2 pictures of L191/L418 (image 4 and 5) and 1 of a Xingu (image 3) in the profile for the Tocantins?

The images in that profile are wrong, or at least do not correspond to what is consistently sold as 'L027 Tocantins'. These pictures are a more reliable source L-Welse.com profile and these are ones recently for sale Arofanatics.com trader.

And since the picture in the PlanetCatfish profile (image 1) is of a juvenile fish (<15cm) it shouldn't be used as a basis for the rest as a lot of their characteristics are yet to be developed.

Do you mean that specifically L027 Tocantins show these colours?

If you have some pictures, post them, and we'll see what it is.

If the specific species vary so much in appearance how are you 100% of the id's? How are you positive of the collection points?

the L027c got variety of shows !!!
from planetcatfish...
"The young fish is very light in colour with black lines. The caudal fin rays are solid colour and the tail is all black. As adults the fish darken to a mid to dark green base colouration with black lines. The eye colour is dull orange throughout its life."

Im 100% because i had the same L27c as the the pic !!!, a few year ago (came to the LFS as L190 byaccident ;) - lucky me)
unfortunately i had a Disease that killed all of my tank (16 kind of pleco's among them...:shakehead)

you all just have to wait next month to see them...

Here are some update pics of the other pleco on p2. As you can see the window on the tail is also smaller. They dont grow very quick compare to the 190
