Some Like It Hot

Here's a picture of my latest creation; it's 31.5" long and is for larger native venomous snakes such as timber rattlesnakes.

Fantastic looking animals, although I wouldn't keep anything like that myself!

Side point, but it's extremely refreshing to see snakes in somewhat naturalistic enclosures. Makes a change from Ball Pythons on newspaper with ice cream tub hides!

Best,
Paul

I want to improve their enclosures even more going forward with some plants & wood; the trick is going to be figuring out what plants grow where these guys are from.

Thanks!

Pothos will grow anywhere. Be careful not to make the enclosures too complicated though- you want them to be easy to break down if you need to get the snake out and you do not want to give the snakes too much of a hiding spot because you will need to know where they are before you open the enclosure.

Awesome snakes, enclosures, and hooks!

I think he is meaning that he wants to make it more natural by adding plants that share the same native range as the snakes. For example, he doesn't want a North American snake with a South American plant.

Yes, my goal is to add plants that occur in their natural ranges or are at least similar to plants in their natural ranges. I also want to do this in the safest manner possible as well. Everything that's in there now & will go in there in the future will not impede my vision to the point that I can't locate the snakes; for example, I made their rock formations in such a way that they can't completely hide from my view yet they still feel secure.
