I was fishing down in Florida today and caught these, was wondering what they were?

That stands for Mayan? lol.. I am so clueless on scientific names... But looks like mayan to me. Nice Catch!

I'm sorry..lol Yeah, Mayan. They were introduced to me as Urophthalmus years ago so that's the first name that pops in my head when i see them.

yeah the male put up quite the fight on my 2wt fly rod, but there were plenty of them in the pond/canal and are gorgeous fish

That is a very nice looking Mayan. I'd have kept one.

One of the nicest ones I've seen.

My last one was mean as snot, though. Had to get rid of her.
