How long has your plywood tank lasted ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is a LFS here that has 25+ year-old plywood tanks, although one finally did spring a leak this year. The tanks range from ~200-400 gallons.

25 yrs ?? Nice. Next time you go there take a pic ! If u don't mind ask them what they used to seal it

I have a plywood tank that held water continuously since 1983 until last year. We took it down to scrape out the marine encrusting life forms and repaint it. It would hold water as-is now if refilled. I first built a glass tank to replace it, so repainting this one is at the bottom of my list of projects. No stand for it, no spot to place it in. I'll do it when I have a few other tanks, or at least one I need done, before tackling it.
