Breeding red belly piranha in 2000g pond naturally

I have 5 rbp in 2000g pond and planning to breed them naturally i m frm india and rainy season had started here, they r with me from past 1 yr now is is possible will they breed in year or i have to wait,group of 5 r enough or i need more plz answer i cant measure piranha because pond is big and deep and cant catch them(dont know size)

Imo you need more, they have to pair off and that mite not happen if u only have 1 female but who knows. Try and find more of the same size to add and be sure there are top cover plants for the juvies to hide out and keep them all well fed if they breed!

They could spawn that early although the 2nd year is more likely.

Good luck man. Personally I'd add a few more to make sure I have some females or fly Bruner out to hand select the ladies = )

Size don't matter but they have to be over year old if not two. Id bet you have a m & f with 5fish. That's pretty good odds. Problem with pond is it'll be hard to tell they spawned till a month later when you spot 1/2"ers maybe even longer.

i always go with a shoal 12 min for breeding make sure you have no pleco in pond as it will eat eggs and put fish that are same size or almost like a 1/8 of a inch smaller.. im wondering if ican breed them in a 75 gallon anyone have any luck with that?

12 in a 75 gallon? NO


5 max in that size tank, and yes I've heard of a shoal breeding in a 40b!
