What kind of sand do stingrays require?

I use pool filter sand...if your talkin salt water I believe "live sand" or crushed aragonite is used.

yeah pool filter sand is the best for freshwater
live sand is the best for salt

Live sand is just aragonite...not much "live" to it other than it being soaked in water and supposed "beneficial bacteria".

The aragonite would buffer the water to a higher hardness and in some cases pH as well.
