Do you HAVE TO keep peacocks in groups?

Well... I think the post title says it by itself... A LFS near where I live brought some Cichla, the only thing is they are selling them a little bit expensive, and I was wondering if there's a chance I can just keep one of them! ;)
 
Well, there is a big possibility I can buy more in the future! :D
 
They do better in groups.
Add dither fish, Silver Dollars, Tinfoils etc if your keeping just one

I keep my larger bass in a group and just one in a grow out tank. Just add dithers, target fish and such and you will be fine.

Thanks a lot for your help! This is actually great info! I can get some silver dollars for sure! :D I'm planning to get this peacock for my future carnivore setup, I'm already taking care of a small jardini and a florida gar :)

Do you guys think I can have the little peacock with my gar and my jar?
 
Gars are lame unless cuban...or platinum or xanthetic.

And what do you consider expensive.
If its under $50 find some new fish and get outta our area!
Its CREAM all day around here!
