I'd vote male EBJD(But very young), and female JD (possibly bgjd with the pronounced purple hews) don't quote me on any of this though...im still a rookie myself

that reg jack is a male. there is no blue on the lower gill plate or cheeks.


The "blue gene" is recessive. There is no physical difference between a bgjd and a regular jd
Some would disagree. I've heard reputable people say that true female bgjd's often have more of purple hew as they're background color.

Yeah those are BG, you should pick up some tooWell the guy I got the ebjd from had a bunch and half were long find and the other half looked like the reg jd

It is a RECESSIVE gene. If it is recessive how can it affect physical appearance? Anyone who disagrees, expert or not, is wrong. So I wouldn't ask them for any more advise.
