fantastic build bud, well done.
have you decided on the finish for the front yet?

the living room the tank is in was new construction so hopefully this weekend ill get back on drywall for the room. the tank will be drywalled to the ceiling on 2 sides with a door in the back to get to the sump steps....

I'm so jealous I can't wait to see the final You should think about a white bass a friend of mine had 1 and it was a really cool fish.

Do you have some liner or plastic under your gravel/substrate?
Great tank by the way, I am very impressed.

Nothing under the gravel, I intended to tile first but after I realized how tough th sweetwater and fiberglass was I decided not to.

I felt the same way about adding something to the bottom to be safe. I took what max acr I had left and added it all to the bottom it created about a 1/2" thick layer on the bottom and I swear you could shoot it and it wouldn't break! The epoxy/fiberglass combo reminds me of kevlar :) Tank looks really good btw, can't wait to see it all drywalled in and finished :headbang2

i myself dropped a couple 2" schedule 40 pvc elbows from the 3' depth before filled and the kid threw a few more than that, not even a mark. my dad did wedge a board too tight in the window installon the back wall, but it just left a dent, no cracks, stress marks or anything, im sure some has to do with fresh materials but impressive still. heck the fiberglass resin and sweetwater is still holding strong on the dirty concrete floor.

had an incident a few nites ago, before i could get framing on the lids so i can feed easier, one of the gar decided to torpedo its self out one lid over the 2x4 stood on end and make a heck of a racquet when flopping on the top of the next lid....luckily it did it while we were eating supper so the house was kinda quiet....other than a bump on its already messed up nose its doing fine and still eating....
