My CCS Has this stringy stuff coming out of his horns. it has eaten before. I got it a few days ago. I did not drip aclumate it. The tank is thirty gallons(By the time he gets 7-8 inches I will probibly have a 50 or more gallon saltwater). The nitrate is 30(I know it is high I did na WC 2 days ago but now I am out of salt so I need to do a WC after I get salt) the ammonia is 0 and the nitrite is 0 the salinity is 1.023. There are 2 common clownfish with him and the clowns are doing great. I have heard that starfish are sensative to nitrates. Could this be causing it? I have heard that they release posins into the water when they decay so if he is on death road should I get him out of there before the clowns die? This my first marine tank and I need Help now!
