Do rays really like round tanks more then square tanks? I know mpst sharks like to swim in circle aquaiums . I put my ray in a small pool/pond and its been more active then ive seen it. Truth be told I might leave her there since she like it that much.

Not really a factor. Total sq footage of floor space is much more important.

how big is your tank compared to the pond? bigger floor area?

i am not a stingray..but i think if i was it wouldnt matter what shape it is..as long as its big.

I have seen rays in ponds and in large tanks....never have i seen a ray swim in circles over and over like a shark.
i have seen them go length to length in long tanks over and over.

The pond is a 6' circle and.the tank is 6'x2'x28"h . The pond is apporx. 60 gallons more but there is more floor space then the tank. She doesnt swim in circles over and over but she does swim more.

You have 28 sq. ft. Floor space on the pond and 12 sq. ft. In the tank. The ray simply has more space to swim in the pond than the tank. The shape doesn't matter.

Its just a little over twice the amount of sq. Feet

can you post some pictures?

i cant post pics of the tank. i just moved it to storage about a hour ago till i have the money to fix it. but this is the pool. i tried to get a pic of her but she hide in the sand when i walked in the room. tomorrow imma cut some wood for a frame for the walls to add some support and so i can fill it up the rest of the way. then imma try to figure out a stock list for it.
