A bought a 300W Cascade Heat heater almost a year ago and it sat in the box unused. I set up my 55 gallon last week and put the cascade in it, and it turned on for about 2 minutes and never turned on again.

Well, a year is a bit late to go returning something and I didn't even have the original receipt.

So, I emailed Penn-Plax last night.

This morning, I got an email asking me for my mailing address, so they could send me a new heater.

These guys rock!
 
Good to know!

I'll have to add them to my "good guys list". I know many people who don't care about anything but the sticker price, family included, but I will always pay 20-30% more for an item if I know the company behind that item will back it up when something breaks or doesn't work.

+1 ...I'm to the point that customer service really is your best friend in keeping fish.companies that help out the fishkeeper are relly a bonus!
 
keep it ,heaters break . you'll be happier later if you keep it:)
