Well I finally set up my 125 gallon again today. It is currently cycling and I have my jaguar and pleco in the 40 gallon growout, and another 20 gallon where I am putting this guy until the 125 is ready. I just stopped in to get food and decided I would take a look at the fish, which I never do... I couldn't believe to see Flowerhorns, and it was actually a great looking one.

Well of course I come back and do some research only to see 1000 threads about Petsmart flowerhorns... But not time to read them all :lipsseale

So, what is the consensus on these? Are they at all quality?

Here is a picture, 000.jpg

Much more vibrant in person.

Also, what are the chances it could get along with a jaguar and JD in a 125 long term??? They would be much larger at beginning, if that helps.

Thanks!

Very well if the FH dosen't start alot of **** and stays out of the j/jds ways. Baby fh usually do well with larger cichlids as they are more aggro than babies of other species. The potential problem comes when the flowerhorn grows to the same size as your other cichlids, if any one of them thinks they can kill the others to gain the territory they will most likley try, do all you can to divide up sight lines by this time so they aren't competitive for space

As for quality, that is a
Standard quality Red dragon flowerhorn. He'res how it breaks down in oklahoma where I'm from. our local wholesaler sells these for about 7$ each so independant pet stores can sell them for as low as 12$ or 15$. Of course there aren't many pet stores in OK that sell them as they don't know how to deal with them (as they can't just throw them in "mixed cichlid" tanks) so I can afford to sell mine for $20 as most times I'm the only one that has them all the time besides petsmart, who sells them for $30.

everything from the 2nd pic down to the kamfa are examples of standard quality in my area. They are typically 20$ but $40 for individuals showing particular potential, great colours or having a big kok when small
