Hello MFK! :D I feel a little silly joining because I don't have my tank yet and it's not nearly as large as the others on here but... I'm getting a free 90 gallon wave tank from my boyfriends family members and I am SO EXCITED. I CANT EVEN CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT. They figure since they haven't had it set up in a long time and they know I love fish that they'd give it to me. :D I have to figure out something nice to do for them to show my thanks.

Anyway, I've been keeping aquariums seriously since I was 16 (21 now) and I work at a pet store so I've had some experience with all kinds of fish. I humbly consider myself an intermediate fish keeper. I like to understock, overfilter, and do tons of water changes, heh. Also, I like to plant all of my tanks.

SO! I need some help deciding what to do with the tank once it gets here! My ideas so far are:
Volatins Lionfish (FOWLR)
Snowflake Eel
Saltwater reef/community (no idea about specifics only that I'd love a flame angel...)
Oscar and maybe a common pleco
6 Fancy goldfish
2 common goldfish (maybe... if that's not overcrowding)
African cichlid tank... I know this could mean PRACTICALLY ANYTHING but I'm not super familiar with African species... only some general Tanganyika species.

So I'd like some kind of large centerpiece fish/fishes. I've done community tanks before and I'd like to seize the opportunity to do something large. Any suggestions? I'm up for a challenge. >:D

welcome to mfk!:mwave: Honestly, i dont think an adult volitan lionfish would be a good choice for your tank. Think p. radiata or another dwarf. Everyone has their tastes, so its realy up to you which setup you want to go.

if i were you i would do sa/ca cichlids

Thanks for the input! I wouldn't mind a dwarf species I just liked the look of the volatins best.

Hmmm... but what kind of SA cichlids? There are so many. ;____;

cyberhog05, I don't mind the parrots but my boyfriend isn't sold on them.

welcome to mfk....I would do a" peaceful" central american cichlid set up,something like rainbow and firemouth cichlids..maybe 4 totalalong with a shoal of bueanos aieres tetras and maybe a raphael cat. or I miight do a synaspilla and a pleco.(kinda along the oscar theme,but a prettier fish) anyway....good luck and most importantly...have FUN !!:)

I am a Severum fanatic. It may be just me but severums are soooo awesome!!!!!! They're beautiful and you can keep them with anything. I suggest the rotkeil Severum it's stunning.
