Channel Catfish with parasites

Praziquantel, when used correctly, de-worms all pets - fish, cats, dogs, etc. This is my primary de-wormer. Highly efficient and safe. I buy it by a kilo from Fishman chemicals. The obstacle is that it is not water-soluble, so I just suspend in a glass of water and dump it in.

Off-the-shelf prazi products usually employ some sort of non-aqueous solvent to help get it in the water.

Of course, it'd be 100 times more effective if you can soak the cat's food in it or get it in his food the way people give pills to their dogs and then have him eat it.

Thanks. The other problem I have is that he stopped eating. But I have API general parasites medication in with him now. I hope that will work. If not, I'll try your idea.

Right. As I described, treating water has worked just fine for me dozens and dozens of times. It is just messier and longer and more of the medication (more $) is needed as I often have to treat the whole ponds of mine.

As for the API general - make sure it is for the internal parasites. Many of these "wide range/all inclusive" parasitic treatments are either for external or for internal. I imagine, some can be for both but not sure.
 
Sorry to hear. Looks like the worms invaded his head heavily, eyes and got into the brain, which killed him. Well, that's how we learn the best - by experience. I usually try to save/cure them the very end too because I had miracle recoveries and with every illness or death and every med tried I learn more and more that helps care for and save others.
