hey i just moved down to Rancho Cucamonga for school, and went to the closest fishing hole we could find - Guaisti regional park BUT me and my buddy got skunked we went on a tuesday from around noon to four pm and tried everything from jigs, to a plastic bluegill lure to powerbait, and couldnt catch anything!!! anyone got some advice? im not picky on what i catch as i dont know the area yet but im just looking to catch a fish or two!!! p.s. any advice on other close fishing spots (3o min drive) would be appreciated!

thanks for the help guys!!! i think eventuall ill get to pudding stone but for now im gonna try guasti again then glen helen, followed either by silverwood or one of the trout streams up in the mountains 
I am in Sylmar too. Ones around here are Hanson Dam, Balboa Park, little bit farther away is Castaic Lake, Lake Pyramid, Piru, Lake Casitas, Lake Cachuma (in San Bernadino)
I go fishing passing pyramid lake ..idk whats the name of the lake but theres big catfish and some p.bass
