IN YOUR HEAD
my female seems to be getting along. a little pecking, but they both appear to be doing the spawning fin twitches. it could be aggression but idk, they seem to be working it out. also if i am not mistaken the new "male has dropped a tube like my old male did. i am hoping to spawn my super checkerboard "male" with my blue turquoise female. here is some pics of it and under the night light.

Lots and lots of peppered babies.

i have read that peppering is avoided by the line of the pb fish you get. not that this pb doesn't have peppering except slight on the upper breast, would the crossing with the non-peppered blue turquoise cause peppering? i was under the impression that the peppering was from the genetics of certain fish. it is an interesting topic. i was thinking/hoping it would have an increase in red with the intense blue. i may have to get another pb to spawn with this pb and find a blue diamond to spawn with my blue turquoise to hopefully intensify the blue.

o.0 Oohhh...Very lovely pickup, Scott! Where'd ja git im? Not FLP.... The one in N St Paul? Aquawhatever?

Ok, I scanned the photos, so I want no smartassery out of you!

What's this peppering you're talking about? Why is it bad? And what is PB? Cuz in the OP, you called him a "Super Checkerboard."

Crossing a pb to a non-pb no matter how clean the pb is will produce a high percentage of heavily peppered babies. I personally would cross the turq back to another turq with better striations. A bd will not intensify the blue color just add to the genetic pool. Try adding spirulina to the fishes diet to enhance the blue color.
